RUGER PC CARBINE MANUAL
- The RUGER® PC CARBINE™ is an autoloading rifle chambered for the 9mm Luger (Parabellum) or 40 S&W cartridge. Use only ammunition of the correct caliber.
- The PC CARBINE™ is “blowback” operated and uses standard RUGER® SECURITY-9® or SR-SERIES™ pistol magazines with the factory-installed magazine well.
- Due to reduced clearance between the top of the receiver and the bottom of the optics rail, optics and optic mounts that extend more than .275" below the top of the rail may not fit the PC CARBINE™.
- Ensure that the optic or optic mount you intend to use does not extend more than .275" below
the top of the Picatinny-style rail when installed.
- Ensure that the optic or optic mount you intend to use does not extend more than .275" below
- There are a significant number of component alterations between PC CARBINES™ chambered in 40 S&W and 9mm Luger.
- Under no circumstances are components to be mixed or interchanged between calibers.
- The rifle will fire if there is a cartridge in the chamber and the trigger is pulled, whether or not there is a magazine in place!
- Removing the magazine does not unload the rifle. Never assume the rifle is unloaded. Visually inspect the chamber and the magazine each time the rifle is handled to be certain there are no cartridges in either.
NOTE: Some RUGER® PC CARBINES™ are equipped with a non-threaded barrel for consumers in those states which have feature-based restrictions.
ATTEMPTING TO “REMOVE” THE FAUX MUZZLE CAP ON NONTHREADED MODELS WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE BARREL.
- Some RUGER® PC CARBINES™ chambered in 9mm Luger come equipped with a ½”-28 threaded muzzle and corresponding thread protector.
- Threaded barrel PC CARBINES™ chambered in 40 S&W come equipped with a 9/16”-24 threaded muzzle and corresponding thread protector.
